Reviews
First time for my wife and I. Son recommended. AMAZING. The lamb, rice, salad, patties, even my sour sop juice. Hands down best Haitian restaurant and quality home cooked authentic food I've had in over 7 states and 4 countries (Ret. AD). Definitely going to be a mainstay when staying in Miami. Friendly, professional and courteous staff and owner. They truly aim to make your visit an enlightening experience through fresh, well seasoned, authentic cuisines that literally had me wondering how can it possibly be this good. Thank you for the great food, conversation and overall experience.
Here's the thing, when u were brought up in the Haitian culture and you are Bahamian just know our tastebuds and palettes are defined. The griot is good 👍 my husband enjoys it. Now, the conch fritter which is a Bahamian dish and a Bahamian staple - this was a no for me! Now, their soup joumou - the minute I opened the container I already knew it would be an epic fail. The color, the look and the taste, yeah no. My mother who's Bahamian makes this dish because it's a Haitian staple dish that is served on the first day of the new year. I'll link a picture of my mom's pot just to show the difference.
This is the worse Haitian food ever. The rice taste disgusting, like old sour tasting rice. I would not recommend anyone to go here.
Very friendly place. The food is good
I posted a review about this place years ago saying how much I love the Griot. I came back and was a bit worried from some of the recent bad reviews.
I had the Griot as always and it was still good stuff. I hope it keeps like this!
The grist be to hard and they give you bones as if it's meat
I've ordered from them over 100 times. Today is definitely my last. Employees don't pay attention to the simplest things. Like how do you mess up on an order that has 2 of the same meals. Ordered thru uber and only got one meal and then have the audacity to tell me to come get the second meal from the restaurant. That's why I did it with uber so I won't have to come. Then I get hung up on. If they Check how many times I've ordered from them they'll be amazed. never again! Messy!
Love the food service can be a little better.
